Structural defects are sometimes found during a Charleston Home Inspection. This crack is the result of a large amount of backfill used for the house seat. The retaining wall had eventually fallen over, and the cracks were all the way from bottom to top in the front and in the back. Some contracting companies claim to have the ability to correct the situation by "shoring up" the foundation by pumping cement and installing steel reinforcement rods in the foundation.
